Modelling biofilms
In order to investigate antimicrobial or even anti-biofilm properties of materials, laboratory model systems are needed that reflect the application situation.

Bacterial adhesion
The influence of material properties on bacterial adhesion was investigated in a flow chamber fabricated for this purpose.
Biofilm incubator
The contamination-free cultivation of biofilms is a major challenge, especially for microalgal biofilms. In this project, an incubator was developed that allows automated quantification of biofilm growth and microscopy of the biofilms without contaminating them.
